Section & Orthoplane improvements

Good Morning,

I have a few improvement requests for the Section exports & orthoplane exports in Pix4d Matic.

  1. Section: Allow DXF export that includes point cloud points (if possible, including point thinning options). (Global mapper supports this, but known bugs cause it to always export to WGS84/meters, no matter project CRS).
    1. b - Support generating a series of cross sections at user-defined interval along a profile. Include a reference DXF that shows the 2D profile polyline and 2D cross section polylines w/ reference names.
      1. c - Include horizontal and vertical grid reference lines in DXF export.

      2. Orthoplane - Allow user to include a user-defined vertical/horizontal grid rendered in orthoplane, as well as a scale bar. Allow user to set up display style of grid.

Hi Derrick,

Thank you for your feedback. To better understand your needs and improve the workflow, could you explain why you want to export the section with the point cloud points? What do you do with it afterward?

Regarding the generation of a series of cross sections, you can currently draw a polyline and take steps using a consistent interval (e.g., 1m between sections). From what you wrote, I assume you’d like the sections to be taken automatically, instead of manually taking the steps, is this correct?

The inclusion of the grids and the scale bar in the export is feedback I’ve heard before, and it’s also on my radar.

Thank you in advance.

Best,

Diana
