RTK and final mesh quality

Are there any studies or controlled comparisons on how much RTK GPS measurements increase the quality of the final point cloud and 3D mesh?  We know that GCPs improve the final quality, but it would be helpful to know to what level RTK measurements add to the process of creating a quality mesh.

Any samples would be appreciated.

I think not much, as a lot of the model scaling is prepared in step one processing and then refined in step two if needed.
