orthomosaics of facades

@drone-analytics on l’a sur la liste de développements à faire, mais ça sera probablement pour l’année prochaine plutôt.

It looks like DJI in their most recent firmware update for the Mavic 3E added a flight plan for vertical surfaces. Are there any plans to allow Matic to generate true orthomosaics of facades?

Yes, we’re working on it, hopefully the orthoplane functionality should be there before the end of the year (if there are no surprises on the way), will keep you posted.

Side note, we just released a “section view” that helps to draw on a plane, e.g. to digitize facades and to export to CAD, to make floorplans, etc…and we start to have a “custom report”, which could help to document inspections done on facades too (e.g. by placing markers,…).

Hello all,

We’re pleased to announce that the 1.66 Preview includes a new feature: the ability to create an orthoplane. This addition makes it easier than ever to generate accurate orthoplanes, enhancing your workflow and expanding your creative possibilities. Give it a try and see how it can elevate your projects!

Which Drone do you have? I recently discovered the HiRes Grid option on my Mavic3E. This allows you to aim at a facade(or any other structure, I think it was designed for bridge inspections); it automatically subdivides it into eight parts and uses the zoom camera to capture the detail. The deliverable is an HTML page that provides navigation between the different shots.
