Optimal flight altitude

Hello,

I am trying to determine what the optimal flight altitude would be for generating the most accurate contour lines. I have to fly a larger area to survey a quarry and increasing the altitude lowers the flight time signifcantly (from 336 minutes to 100 minutes).

There is not an optimal altitude for the contours. You need to decide what vertical accuracy you need to obtain. In general terms the higher you fly the less GSD you obtain and more inaccurate the data.

I agree with Vertical Aspect.
The optimal flight altitude depends on the ground sampling distance (GSD) you want to achieve and what camera you are using.
