Not able to logout

This is expected as we can’t allow more users to be connected than the amount of license seats that the license allows.

Hi @Daniele_Lecci ,
I understand what you are saying about not being able to allow more users to connect than the number of seats allowed by the license, what I don’t understand as expected is that if the Discovery Mode and the license are busy because it’s a shared account between several users in this case, the last person can’t disconnect from that account in the license selection window and connect to a different account without uninstalling the software.

Hi @luis.arreolac,
thank you for the additional information.
What do you mean with the “last person”? The last that managed to log in or the first one that wants to access when 0 license seats (PIX4Dmapper + PIX4Ddiscovery) are available?

Hi @Daniele_Lecci ,
Technically it could be anyone, the software allows multiple logins even if the license seats are occupied, so it could be the first, second, third, etc, to log in after the allowed seats are occupied, there is no limit that I know of, and all those logins after the license and discovery mode are occupied suffer from the same problem, they get stuck in that window without being able to logout until the license or discovery are released because there is no logout option there, and for the software to show the login again uninstalling and reinstalling is the only option without having to wait for the license and discovery to be released.

Only PIX4Dmapper is available in this particular case, but in my experience it doesn’t really matter if there are more licenses associated to the same account, this could happen as long as all seats of all licenses associated to the same account are occupied, anyone logging in after this point where an account has all seats occupied, will not be able to log out of that account until any of the seats are released and can access to the main program window where there is a logout, this at least in reference to PIX4Dmapper, I don’t know if this happens with any of the other programs.

Hi Luis,

It seems that when all licenses are taken (including Discovery), this is the screenshot of the message shown:

The log-out procedure should happen on any other device where you are currently logged in (and using a license).
Once you log out from the other device(s), you just need to close and reopen PIX4Dmapper and the license(s) will be available.

I’m now starting to understand more clearly your question, but why you would like to log out from a device where no license is currently used?

Hi @Daniele_Lecci ,

As I said on multiple occasions, it’s a shared account between several people, so when that message appears it’s because both the license and the discovery mode are occupied by someone else, so it’s not the same person as the one who is logged in on the other devices, their processes can’t be interrupted, and waiting is not always an option because sometimes that can take hours.

I have also mentioned this many times before, the idea of having a logout option there is to be able to log into a different account than the one being used and be able to work with the program even if it’s not with the same account. I don’t think it’s that hard to understand, I’ve also mentioned it many times, this issue comes up when working with multiple devices and multiple accounts, as well as the situation described by the user who originally opened this discussion.

It seems therefore that you would like to access the same license at the same time from different locations. To achieve this, you need to purchase an additional license.

This is also what baffles me. Why can’t we manually logout if a logged in account runs out of licences?

We have an institutional licence with several seats. Unfortunately, this means there is a master user/password for this account and we can’t share it with anyone. We sometimes do courses that involve using Pix4D for a single exercice so we created an account for which we sometimes get temporary licences for attendees.

Now, I need to use our main account to do some processing, but since I was logged with the alternate account when the temporary licences lapsed, I cannot log out from my computer. There is also apparently no option to log out from the account management webpage.

It seems that the only way for me to log back in with the main account is to uninstall Pix4DMapper. That is, frankly, ridiculous.

Hello!

Please logout my account. I just got different email account and want to get out of this one. Can someone help me?

Really, almost 4 years, this issue exists.
Not able to logout in an application.

Hi @nabaz.gharib ,

If you are on the welcome screen, you need to select a license before being able to log out.
If you only have Discovery, select that license and then log out.

When you have this pop-up (image below), press ok and then log out.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Kind regards,
Daniele
