Multiple Errors Processing, Processing Time, Disk Space Consumption

Hi,

I’m having issues processing four projects I’m currently working on. Projects 1-4 have 291, 287, 219, and 128 images, respectively. Initially, they all failed to process in one way or another. The first three projects processed partially, some of the features would fail to generate (mesh, orthomosaic, etc.). The last project with 128 images failed to process/calibrate at all, seconds upon initiating processing.

· Processing times: It takes hours to process each project with the amount of images I have. Is that normal? How can I reduce the processing times?

· Hard drive consumption: I noticed disk space was low after the first run on the four projects, as I received a “Failed to write to backup files - Error writing to file (Domain error)” message, which I had to google. The projects were taking up the 475 GB of space on my laptop. I deleted over 100GB of the data, but it’s still failing to process the projects completely. After trying to process again I now have 79.9GB of disk space left. How can I decrease the amount of space processing takes up so I can continue to process projects/use the software?

· Generating/exporting dense point cloud, depth map, DSM, orthomosaic/orthomosaic tiles, mesh, quality report: I changed the algorithm setting from “Hardware accelerated” to “Standard” and enabled the “Oblique” processing option because I was getting a color balance issue with the orthomosaic tile generation, but that didn’t help. It still fails to generate or export the orthomosaic. I also got a message stating that, “All cameras exceed the maximum nadir angle of 30 degrees. Please enable the ‘Oblique’ processing option to generate the orthomosaic (one error message had “[ORTHO-9]” at the end of that sentence). Other errors I see: Filter statistical outlier point cloud points, Ambiguous processing output, Processing error [CALIB-1].

I installed the latest version on PIX4Dmatic in June/July timeframe. There may be an updated version again, I’ll check and install the latest if I don’t have it to see if that may also be an issue. I tried to attach one of the quality reports that I was able to export, but it won’t upload.

Thanks,

Melissa

Hello Melissa,

Thank you for your message.

To best address the issues you’ve listed, please create a support ticket. Our support team will then assist you directly.

To help them investigate, please be prepared to provide details on the type of images you are processing, your hardware specifications, and the relevant project log files.

Kind regards,

Alexey Gribovskiy

Thank you, Alex. Will do.
