I’m wondering if it’s possible in Pix4DMapper to run Step 1, import a LiDAR point cloud (LAS file), then run Step 3 and use the Volumes tool.
I’ve tried following the instructions in the link below, but I’m unable to calculate volumes, and the imported point cloud never displays.
I understand this workflow is supported in Pix4DSurvey and Pix4Dmatic; however, I find the Volumes menu and tools in Pix4DMapper to be more user-friendly and better suited to my workflow.
Hello @keith, You can’t use volume tool using external point cloud in PIX4Dmapper. It is possible in PIX4Dmapper to import a point cloud generated by an external source like LiDAR. PIX4Dmapper will use this point cloud in order to generate the DSM and orthomosaic after processing step 3. DSM,Orthomosaic and Index .
We are finding the volume calculation function in Matic to be cumbersome compared to the previous versions offered in Mapper. It seems to be what was offered in Survey.
Since the new combined Matic software was to be an improvement when will it mimic the editing offered in Mapper?
We find the initial selection of the toe of the pile to be difficult which then requires the toe to be edited which is slow and difficult.
