Hello,
I would like to export the DSM from Pix4D without interpolation of missing values in the point cloud. In other words, I want my DSM to only show values where they have been measured (and no data/ holes otherwise). I have not found settings which would allow me to do that. Is that possible and if yes, how do I do that?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
Hello there, There is no option to modify the DSM’s elevation data using the PIX4D’s software.
@e.hafner could you give me some details on why you would need such a DSM? What is your workflow and what are your project objectives?
I would want this for example for DSM differencing, e.g. to see differences in topography. There I’d rather have holes in my data than compare values that weren’t actually measured. I know I can always take the resulting point cloud and go from there but to directly have the option to export an uninterpolated DSM would have been neat.
Comparing outputs (for topography, volumes) is something that we would like to consider for the future, so making sure we handle well areas with no data is indeed essential. Thank you for drawing our attention to this. Are you comparing DSMs between specific dates (weekly, monthly, etc.) or after an event (construction, landslide, etc.)?
@e.hafner in PIX4Dmatic there is an option to disable the interpolation for the DSM, may be worth a try?
