Correct formula for Photochemical Resistance Index

Hello,

I’m looking for advice on the formula for the PRI index. I have input the following formula:

R531-R570/R531+R570

It accepts it as valid, however I get a R0065 error.

I do not know how to find the R either.

Thank you

Hi,

R stands for Reflectance and the number refers to the spefic wavelengths of the band you should use in the equasion.

"The Photochemical Reflectance Index (PRI) is a vegetation index that measures the relative abundance of carotenoid pigments to chlorophyll in plant leaves, which is related to photosynthetic light use efficiency. "

Bests,

Julius,

Thanks for the reply. I don’t really understand what/where to find the reflectance to complete the formula. Any more help would be appreciated.

For Example R531 = The Band with wavelength of 531nm. R is not a variable in this case.
So either you have a camera which has the 531nm wavelength or you dont, it depends on the physical properties of the sensor you are using and cannot be influenced by you.

Your available bands you find at this location in the custom index calculator:
