Yes the switch is in the F position and its checked off n the drone takeoff checklist. Everything is green except ground station connection failed.
I was able to fix my issue of the ground station not checking off green by resetting all settings in the DJI pilot app.
My first test flight with the app it would randomly say 0% range extender and abort mission. I had to restart the mission 5 times to do it completely. Flight heights were 90m and the area was not large. It would be nice if we could verify the height in the app like in mission planner and if it told us our distance, speed and altitude in the app as well.
Also, the P3P sits on the corners for a long time before continuing to run the survey.
@DDS CAD:
- If your phone runs Capture without problem, then it will not make a huge difference.
- On Android, the mission will continue running in the background, so it should not be a
problem at all ;-). But it is right we don’t test that really often… - With the P3/I1, you are connected to the remote controller in USB. Then, I don’t know which
protocol they use between the Remote Controller and the drone, but it is in 2.4 Ghz.
@Justin Cooper: - That is good to know, thanks for the feedback!
- Are you sure you updated the controller’s firmware as well?
- What is “a long time”?
- For the battery problem, in 2.0.3 you will have the possibility to actually disable the
battery check if you know what you are doing!
@Justin Adams: The sync is not really stable indeed. We are working on that. Thanks for the
feedback!
I am not sure if I updated the controller firmware. The controller light would not go blue and when I checked the log it says the firmware on P3P controller is 1007 or newer in the log so it would not update. The drone would hover in the corners for 15 to 20 seconds. Is there a way we can see the pictures it is taking in the app and adjust the exposures. All of my pictures turned out very dark. Likewise, on medium setting for overlap I am getting camera optimization difference of 137% in pix4d quality report.
@Justin Cooper:
- Is it always the case that the pictures are really dark? It should be set automatically…
- By the way, you can see all the telemetry (altitude, speed, …) if you click on the drone battery icon on the upper right corner of the screen.
@Martin: You will have the landscape rotation enabled in 2.0.3
I did 2 flights and both were very dark pictures
@developer,
Thank you for answering my questions. I appreciate that.
Just to be clear, the UAV’s will spin in place while going to the start of the mission and at check points in this version of Capture?
By the way, are we able / or will we be able to set the starting corner of the grid? Many times I seem to be setting up camp on the wrong corner…
Also, just make sure - as some asked in spanish earlier: We are only updating the firmware on the UAV not the controller correct?
@DDS CAD:
- You should upgrade both the remote controller and the drone.
- In 2.0.2 it should not spin anymore.
- I am not sure what you mean with the starting corner. It starts in the beginning of the white line and it stops on the flag.
@Jonas,
I know you can rotate the grid ect. but can you change the start point of the line; what I was to fly in a “mirrored” direction, or I am closer to the end and I want that to be the start? I guess I can rotate the grid so that the start is closest to me… but I can see how that may not work all the time.
This is not a high priority right now, but we might implement that at some point, yes
@Jonas,
Totally understand. Keep it in your back pocket
I look forward to installing the firmware and joining the brave.
For testing purposes, it would be great to have the ability to set our own height. For instance I would like to fly at 30’ in an open area.
@Jonas,
I just received the e-mail below:
How does this impact your work?
Dear DJI Developer,
We are excited to introduce a significant update to the Intelligent Navigation features in the new version of the DJI Mobile SDK and a new beta firmware. Key features such as Follow Me, Waypoint, Point of Interest, and IOC have received important enhancements – opening doors to even more developing possibilities!
The enhancements include:
Enhanced Waypoint Mission now includes advanced features such as curve-based turns, 3D waypoint support, speed control, and backtracking.
The Follow Me feature is taken to new heights by implementing configurable offsets and camera tracking angle functionality.
These improvements are the result of changes made to the existing Mobile SDK for the Inspire 1, Phantom 3 Professional and Phantom 3 Advanced. As a result, some apps built on the previous version may experience compatibility issues with the new firmware.
We plan to release the new SDK and beta firmware as soon as possible to allow you to modify your apps and explore the new features.
Best regards,
DJI Dev Team
Hello,
I’m using the Nexus 7 Android Version 4.4.4 Build # KTU84P. Aircraft P3P I had one successful flight, but then it wouldn’t sync. Now the app crashes each time I try to start it crashes continuous. I have uninstalled the app and reloaded it three times and still crashes each time. Also, each time i plug in the usb the pilot app takes over the device and then i have to exit out of pilot app then go back into pix4d. I will hold off testing until you produce a new build
@Jonas,
I did my third flight today and here are my findings
- Images are still dark and camera optimization in pix4d quality report are above 100 percent on medium overlap.
- The wifi connection is unstable so it would be nice to have a resume mission button when it cancels the mission and RTL so we don’t have to start all over from the beginning
- It would be nice for the app to display the GSD when selecting the altitude
- Are we going to be able to use the video to capture images since its now supported in pix4d 2.0
- It would be nice to select larger areas to map and if fast battery drain happens trigger the RTL failsafe.
- The capture app crashes when I accidentally hit the buttons on the bottom of the controller on P3P
- Can we toggle between dji pilot app and capture app without the app crashing
Just finished my 4th flight and same issues as earlier except this time the sky was clear and it was nice and sunny now all pictures are extremely overexposed and washes out most of the detail in the picture
Jonas
Again a question about the file names on the SD card. Why is there such a huge difference between the file names in the p4d file and the files on the SD card?
I was able to batch rename them, using Adobe Bridge, but the pictures from one session have been spread over 2 folders and I could only match them to the appropriate session by the recording time.
Having the same name in the p4d file and on the SD card would very much simplify the process.
And thought about bigger mission, taking longer than 18-20 minutes. Do you plan to implement a splitting functionality of a project into smaller recording sessions?
And do you plan to integrate flights with different shapes, like a circle flight about an object of interest or any ‘free style’ shape instead of squares and rectangles?
Thank you,
Martin
