We are proud to announce the winners of our first Pix4D community challenge:
1st. Place: Anders Eibl
Anders will receive 6-months of Pix4Dmodel license, a Pix4D t-shirt, a Pix4D paper notebook, and a Pix4D USB key, and surprise Pix4D goodies.

Judges comment: Anders chose a technically difficult object, as the truck is composed of many small parts. The image acquisition path was cleverly designed with a double grid and a circular image path around the object that minimized the noise in the model. We also liked how the scene was set up with the truck and the rocks.
2nd. Place: Julien Lieb
Julien will receive 3-months of Pix4Dmodel license, a Pix4D t-shirt, a Pix4D paper notebook, and a Pix4D USB key, and surprise Pix4D goodies.

Judges comment: Julien’s elephants have a texture that gives a very good sense of 3D. The image acquisition was done with two circles around the object at different altitudes, similar to what is used to reconstruct buildings, which results in a clean model in which even the grass is well reconstructed.
3rd. Place: Fredrik Nerdal
Fredrik will receive 1-month of Pix4Dmodel license, a Pix4D t-shirt, a Pix4D paper notebook, and surprise Pix4D goodies.
Project link: https://cloud.pix4d.com/pro/project/204495/mesh?shareToken=02922bdd0f6f42d9bed37c746cd14836
Judges comment: Fredrik’s chess board has its challenges as each chess figure has to be well reconstructed. A similar image acquisition strategy as Anders’ was used with a double grid and a circular path resulting in a clean model.
