Have a question pertaining to GCP’s while processing a flight in Pix4DMapper. We have a field crew go out and shoot GCP’s for us to use as control. Most of the time, the PM’s are wanting to adjust the control in TBC before we can get started on the project. My question is, does that help any? We are having to move the points a bit regardless so not sure what the point in waiting for the adjusted control is. Often times we are having to wait days for the PM to get to that certain project then wanting the flight right away once adjusted while we could be processing the flight without adjusted control. Just curious if anyone else adjusts their control through TBC or other sorts of software before processing a flight using GCP’s. Thanks in advance!
hello bsummer!
I do not use TBC, but in general adjustment is done for two reasons: First, to improve accurateness and secondly to approve reliability of data. Either could be the reason for the behavior. It would help to know, what kind of surveying technique is used to determine the GCPs.
Michael,
Thank you for your reply! So usually our GCP’s are tagged twice for 90 sec increments with base/rover. We usually have a couple hours in between tags as well.
So you are measuering base-lines/vectors between the GCP in a kind of triangle-network? This is a classic method. The adjustment has to be done carefully and I would recommend to wait, until the final result is reached.
I hope, I understood you right.
