WOW
Pix4D is largely based on various open source software packages and tools, CloudCompare is an excellent free point cloud viewing tool, and it has full 3D mouse support, so I canāt imagine its that hard to add support for, maybe CC could be leveraged for this?
Ā
Ā
Yes Sir Jeffrey
I use or have used all the open source utilities. My reasoning for purchasing the full Pix4D licence was its implementation of most the these tools in a simple GUI. Still have to use CC to fix things, blender to edit model/camera animations and Quick Terrain (QT) for better DSM/DTM visualization. Sorry Iām just frustrated.
I hear you, I also have a Pix4D Pro license and am very disappointed they donāt see 3D mouse support as a priority. Ā I work in both GIS and Photogrammetry extensively, and I can tell you use of a 3D mouse once you get used to it can more than double your productivity for both platforms, you simply hardly have to touch your keyboard after a while, and using your 2D mouse for pan/zoom tasks is completely eliminated. Ā
Apparently Pix4D doesnāt see this as valuable???
I am also used to being able to use my 3D mouse from www.3dconnexion.com
Please add this asap. It is invaluable when working in 3D environments. This would increase the editing speed of point-cloudĀ models 10 fold.
Be sure to include the button mapping of Pix4D editing functions for the Space Mouse Enterprise and Pro.

Thank you.
Please add the 3D Connexion asap!!!
With the advent of the new point cloud classification feature within Pix4D, having the 3D Mouse capability to navigate the raycloud editor would greatly accelerate further point cloud editing.
Iād like to again request that this feature be added to Pix4D.
I can also add that Agisoft Photoscan added 3D mouse support about 3 months ago, and it works excellent with a Space Mouse.Ā
Please add 3D mouse capabilitiesā¦This feature would only be appropriate due to being a 3D modeling softwareā¦
Dear PIX4d. It seemsĀ a bit ridiculous that we are requesting this hardware to be supported for the last 3 years and you guys havenātĀ even bothered to say āyeah, ā¦naaahā ā¦
Ā
We are paying customers, at least flick here aĀ responseā¦
Hi all,
I understand your frustration that the seemingly straight-forward integration of support for theĀ 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator, and other 3D mice, has not happened since Eric first requested it on September 24, 2015.
Pix4D does not have plans to support 3D mice in the rayCloud at this time, but I can assure you that your requests have not fallen on deaf ears. Iāve taken the opportunity to share each of your comments for consideration as part of the ongoing development of Pix4D Desktop.
Ericās comment on September 24, 2015, is spot on. If you are seeing this post for the first time and would like to see 3D mouse support in a future version of Pix4D Desktop, please let us know by commenting below. If you have already commentedĀ on this post, please stay tunedĀ for more updates on the status of this feature request in the future. You can always receive email notifications about activity on any Pix4D Community Post by clicking Follow.
I cannot guarantee if or when Pix4D Desktop will support 3D mice but can assure you that it is still in the running for development along with many other potential tools and features.
Thank you very much for your understanding and continued contribution to the development of Pix4D Desktop. If there are any other features or tools you would like to see in future versions, please let us know at Product FeedbackĀ or on an existing Community Post.
Our organization would like this functionality as well. If Pix4D is not making the raycloud experience more user friendly and we need to export this to other software to do any serious editing then we might as well find a more reasonably priced software that provides a better user experience and simplifies the workflow.Ā
Hi Kyle,
Thank you for your input, Iāve shared your comments for consideration
Supporting 3D mice is one way to make the rayCloud more user-friendly. While we do not have plans to develop support for 3D mice at this time,Ā please let us know about other tools that you would like to see implemented in future versions to make editing your 3DĀ data products easier.
In the meantime, please consider letting us and others in the Community know which software you prefer to use to edit your results.
Please get this configured.
Please tell me that this has been resolved after 4 years of requesting.
Every other 3D modeling tool has now implemented 3D mice into their product.
Can someone here direct me to a post or instruction sheet to configure a 3Dconnexion space mouse or similar device?
Very disappointing that this is not yet a feature. Pix4d churns out new programs that are more or less useful, but completely disregards its communities and what we actually want. Poor strategy.
Has been requested since 2015 and its not that difficult to implement.
I would again like to voice our support for the integration of the 3D Connexion Space Navigator range. I actually noticed that the zoom function works with one of these mice, but other functions - most importantly rotation - doesnāt work.
+1 vote for 3D mouse.
Anyone know if 3D mouse support was added with the recent Pix4Dmapper update? Iām assuming no, but Iām looking at buying a mouse and am hopeful. Thanks.
Yes, please add 3DConnexion Space Mouse support!
