Im looking to understand fill volumes.

I have uploaded an example project of a quarry and I’d like to understand the fill volume. 

However there is a significant difference in elevation from one side to the other, obviously I would like to simulate filling the quarry so that the finished level corresponds with the slope in land elevation , opposed to filling so that it corresponds with the highest level. 

Which base surface would reflect this option best?

Hi Anth, in cases where the volume needs to follow the surroundings, I would recommend using the “Triangulated” option.
