Pix4Dchallenge #1: 3D modeling a small object

Here is my submission for the contest. Thank you for setting this challenge, I quite enjoyed the process. This was my first time using the cloud for processing, and it behaved a little differently than I am accustomed to, however I can see that it will be very useful in the future.

Sincerely,

Travis

My idea was a souvenir, but with the glass in front of it I could not get good results. that’s why I decided to model one of my many 1:43 scale collection cars.

I have not been able to upload it to the cloud, so I processed in desktop discovery version.

Hello Pix4D and everyone.
My wife colored and decorated this small pumpkin for Halloween this year for my 3 year old’s enjoyment and I thought that using Pix4d would be a great way to record it.

Please see the model below. Thank you and good luck everyone !
Images were captured with a Samsung Note 8.

Hi , i uploaded this on the 15th https://cloud.pix4d.com/model/project/207295/mesh ,I’m still learning!

Hi pix4d I am wondering if there is a way to specify a “starting view position” on the online 3d modeler viewer.
currently if you clock the link of my project you are starting inside the pumking and have to zoom out a bit before you can see it. lol.

Hello,

Here is an updated edit of my model, processed with Pix4D desktop and with a lot of work on calibrating new pictures manually, cleaning the pointcloud and drawing some surfaces. Of course it’s not in the rules for the challenge, but I wanted to share the final result of this work!

Thank you all for participating!

Awarding of prizes is ongoing. We will post update in this thread next week.

Please keep us posted !!!  - good luck everyone !!! =)

Hi everyone!

The winners have been announced here.

I want to personally thank everyone who participated, it is awesome to see so much enthusiasm and modeling skills. Looking forward to the next challenge!

Congratulations to the winnners!! Looking forward to another challenge.

What about the 30cm rule? Those are great models but a lot of submissions didn’t follow the rules…

@Adam: The objects that were too large were not considered in the final pool of submissions. I liked your idea of adding a scale in the model itself to make sure of the size, we can add this as a condition if we do a similar challenge in the future.

Well hopefully the next challenge is more clear because typical sizes of the objects I see here are bigger than 30cm.

Congrats to the winners.

yeah I have to agree with @Adam,  but nonetheless great job everyone !!!

Thanks to everyone who contributed! You had quite some imagination regarding the subjects you scanned and the dioramas you recreated.
