Hi everyone. I was hoping to get some feedback here on some issues we’ve been running into with processing data in PIX4D Mapper (recent version) with a Mavic 3 Entreprise Multispectral RTK system.
Essentially, we have now done a couple of different surveys using GCPs where the X and/or Y RMS errors (10-50 cm) are larger than expected while the Z RMS errors are quite low (5-8 cm). We’ve used this same setup at other sites and have achieved X-Y-Z RMS errors of sub-5 cm with the same setup (Emlid RS3 Base+Rover for GCP collection). We’ve tried quite a few different work arounds (remarking GCPs, introducing a shift to the EXIF coordinates in the raw images) but are still ending up with these relatively high errors.
I’ve included a copy of one of our quality reports from one of the surveys from a glacier site where this issue is obvious. We’ve actually done some in flat areas with even more GCPs and run into some similar issues. However, we usually do have good success with our setup so the random occurrence of these issues is really bugging me.
Does anyone have any ideas?
