Hi All
Just a quick query, when I process the images from my Ebee Ag on Pix4D
and it produces the transparent Mosaic, then image when I zoom in is blurry in most areas. Is there any way that I can make the image sharper and less blurry so that if I zoom into an area the image is clear?
I am wondering if it is the sequoia camera the issue or the processing. When I look at each individual image they are relatively clear so I am assuming its the process of stitching the RGB images together that causes this?
I hope this makes sense
many thanks
Greg
Hi Greg,
We would need more information to further investigate your issue.
Would you be ok to share a sample of your dataset and your project Quality Report on the Community so that other users could beneficiate from its resolution? If so could you please download these documents on the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1j0NxWpTf3pEzjPoid5ZWngDqvl7KZqAU
Otherwise, could you please create a ticket to our Technical Support with your request and specifying that Margaux should take care of it?
Finally, is the blurry orthomosaic produced from RGB images or from multispectral imagery?
Thank you,
Margaux
Hey Greg,
The RGB output from Sequoia wouldn’t be the highest quality orthomosaic and also the the rolling shutter may be causing the blurriness for the RGB ouput. Blurriness and stitching are probably two different issues. How does your DSM look like btw?
Hi Margaux
thank you for getting back to me. I have tried to upload the quality report but it won’t work. The Orthomosaic was produced from RGB images. It isn’t blurry when you view it as one large picture, however when I zoomed into one area of the picture to look at something a bit closer certain areas were more blurry than others. I have been taking some progress photos on an engineering job using the ebee ag to see what quality of image is produced, due to the ebee’s ability to photograph many acres. However my reason for asking the question, is that a farmer has asked me to photograph his land where he has many animals, he has asked me to do this so that he can check on the animals and count them, however if the images are blurry when I zoom into a certain area, it may not be possible to ascertain for example is it a sheep on its own or is it a sheep with 1 lamb or 2 lambs etc? I hope this makes sense.
I can send you the raw images Margaux if you would like them? let me know.
thanks
Greg
Hi Margaux
I have sent the quality report again, let me know whether you have received it or not
thanks
Greg
Hi Selim
Many thanks for your response. The RGB photographs on their own are not too bad, its when the orthomosaic is produced that certain areas are a bit blurry, not when I look at it as one single image but when I zoom into a certain area, I think it has more to do with the stitching. But if what you say is true about the RGB output on the sequoia then this might also have something tot do with it. Do you know if there is a higher quality rgb camera that is compatible and works with the Ebee Ag?
Thanks
Greg
Hey Greg,
Normally you should be able to notice the bluriness in the individual photos as well. I have processed approximately 2000-3000 agriculture related projects using different types of drones and cameras including Ebee, Ebee Plus, Ebee Rtk, DJI Mavic and DJI Pro. As for the sensor types there are two main RGB sensors that we have used specifically with the Ebee’s. We were using the Sony WX however couple months ago we have started using the SODA. Based on my experience SODA cameras produce a really high quality, almost always non-blurry, sharp orthomosaics. As long as you have Emotion 3, you should be able to use a SODA camera without any problem. Moreover if you bluriness is only occurring in one or two spots you may be able to fix it using the Mosaic Editor, make sure you generate a DSM as it is required for Mosaic Editing. And also if you are gonna use the Mosaic Editor make sure you make a copy of your orthomosaic since it is going to overwrite the current one.

Hi Selim
thanks you so much for sharing your experience and expertise, In your experience will the SODA camera work with the Ebee SQ?
Thanks
Greg
Hey Greg,
According to Pix4D’s website SODA camera is compatible with Ebee, Ebee RTK and Ebee Plus however Ebee SQ is not listed. I would send them an email just confirm though.
Thanks Selim
I have asked this question and got the same answer
thanks again for all your help
Greg
Hey Greg,
You are welcome. In your case I would try to use the Mosaic Editor to see if it would improve the quality of the orthomosaic.
