I am very thankful you added the Sections and the Section view, but you got rid of the profiling along a polyline when you did. I draw polylines along the tops of canal and basin embankments and it’s sometimes hard to discern where the top of the bank is. I know there are work arounds using the sections, but it’s more work. It would be very helpful to easily see if I placed a point just off of the top of the bank and on the slope. Plus, being able to quickly draw a profile along a profile with multiple points to show what the ground is doing is very helpful.
I am not quite sure, if I understood your topic. If the Polyline is drawn inside of the section view, it seems not possible to drape it. But there is a Feature (RM) called ‘Detach Polyline from section’. After using this, the Polyline can be draped.
I used to be able to draw a polyline in plan view, either with a single segment or multiple segments, then right click and select Profile Polyline (or something like that), then it would draw the profile of the point cloud along that polyline, similar to how it draws sections. What this allowed me to do was quickly see the profile of the ground along a possible centerline alignment or determine the elevations along a non-linear path, for example along a ridge or through a valley.
