What are the primary differences between Mapper and BIM?

I see that BIM lets you bring in drawings and has a timeline that Mapper does not. Anything else? Does it render better or make better models?

Does Mapper have anything that BIM does not?

Thanks

Hello Thomas,

Yes Pix4Dbim has CAD overlay and timeline on the cloud which Pix4Dmapper does not, and Pix4Dmapper has Index Calculator which computes and generates index maps from reflectance values of each band of multispectral images.
You probably already saw this comparison, but also for people who may be interested in what the differences of our 4 solutions are:

Are you planning to introduce CAD overlay in the desktop version? I would like to do some 3D animation trajectories with combined 3D mesh and Autocad Civil 3D.

It would be also great to add annotations to the generated output, (comparison of present state with Autocad plans) to send it to the customer, highlighting the differences.

Will there be an add-in that users like us (Perpetual Pix4D Mapper Pro License) can install to add the BIM features? at the end of the day, there are 3 functionalities more on the BIM version.

I am having trouble understanding the differences between Pix4Dmapper and Pix4Dbim here. I am being tasked to provide a daily update of an excavation progress over the course of 6 months. I used Pix4Dmapper in the past for similar tasks, and if I recall correctly, the calculation of the excavated volume is possible in Pix4Dmapper, and also possible in Pix4DBim. Is this correct or something has changed?
Now, I am seeing that the monthly cost of Pix4Dbim is significantly higher than the cost of Pix4Dmapper, but apparently the only differences are due to the CAD overlay and timeline. Is the different cost due to these two differences only? Or now in 2019, are there any changes to the processing power between Pix4Dmapper and Pix4Dbim?
