Volume calculation including poles and augur lines

I’m using pix4d cloud to calculate volumes of large piles.
It looks like the poles and augur lines are being included in the volume calculation.
So our volume is being overstated.
Is there a way to identify and exclude poles and augur lines in piles for volume purposes? I don’t see how to do this currently.
Would also be nice if I could input density for various materials and then on the map view the volume and the density and the weight in tons is displayed.

Hi @david

Welcome to Pix4D Community.

Is there a way to identify and exclude poles and augur lines in piles for volume purposes?

This is not possible from PIX4Dcloud but It is possible to use the poles detection in PIX4Dsurvey. In this sense you can use automated feature extraction. Otherwise, if you already know where the poles are, you can simply modify the point cloud using PIX4Dsurvey to remove the points that are not relevant (it is possible that the terrain filter can already remove the poles).

For more information:

Input density for various materials will be considered a feature request.

Have a very nice day!
