I don’t have much experience with Pix4D and had a query. I was wondering at what point ‘Bundle Adjustment’ would take place? is it done automatically during the initial stage one processing phase?

Your assumption is correct! 
The Bundle Adjustment takes place during Step 1. In the Quality Report, you can find some details. The three parameters that describe the process are well explained in our quality report specification.
That’s great to know! does pix4D automatically apply feature detection as well? and does it also apply MVS (Multi-View Stereo) automatically during the densification step?

Yes, Pix4Dmapper is an image processing software that is based on automatically finding thousands of common points between images. Each characteristic point found in an image is called a keypoint. When two keypoints on two different images are found to be the same, they are matched keypoints. Each group of correctly matched keypoints will generate one 3D point. Those processes; feature detection and keypoint matching take place during Step 1.
Indeed, in Step 2 during the densification process, we apply a multi ray approach to search for all images that see the same characteristic point.
