I have a new client that is looking for a surface area calculation on one of their sites. I have been trying to determine if the 3d area calculated when performing a volume calculation is an accurate surface area but am struggling to find information to back this up.

Hi @andrewross ,

In PIX4Dsurvey you can also simply draw a polygon and see the area in the Properties panel; you don’t ned to do the volume computation (example below).

Let me know if this helps or if you I need to put you in contact with someone from the development team to explain how this surface is currently calculated.

Best,
Diana
