Rarely do I ever merge projects, but this past month I’ve done it twice.
Both times, after _ **re-optimizing** _ the project, I would have 2 layers of bundle blocks.

I noticed that I would only run Step 1 for each project and then merge them.

Would running Steps 1 and 2, provide a better merged project result?
Or does it even matter?

Hi Jason,
Processing step 1 and step 2 doesn’t provide better merged result. The merged result would be the same. If you are having two layers, after merging, I would recommend you to add 3-4 manual tie points and reoptimize your project. This should solve your issue. For more information, I would recommend you to follow the steps explained in our support article; [How to merge projects](https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/202558529-How-to-merge-projects).
