# Orthomosaic Processing Error "file used by another process"

Hi, I am running a project through Pix4d Mapper and am getting an error on step 3. This error is _ **…3\_dsm\_ortho/2\_mosaic/tiles/CWTP\_ActivatedSludgeSite\_250224\_transparent\_mosaic\_group1\_2\_4.tif\_tmp.tif: file used by other process** _  
[Error]: Blending: failed to write tile!  
[Error]: Generate orthomosaic [group1] failed!

I have tried shutting down the PC trying again with no luck. There is also plenty of space on the drive. I also deleted the ‘tiles’ folder and this deleted fine, so the files are being created new by Pix4d.

The project is not large, around 300 images.

I have now had this happen on a second job. "**J:/\_Drone Temp Locations/195 - Waitaki Wetland Opening/Pix4d/250226/Waitaki\_Wetland\_250226/3\_dsm\_ortho/2\_mosaic/tiles/Waitaki\_Wetland\_250226\_transparent\_mosaic\_group1\_4\_2.tif\_tmp.tif: file used by other process  
[Error]: Blending: failed to write tile!  
[Error]: Generate orthomosaic [group1] failed!**

Any help appreciated

Solved, should have started with this, but solution was “IT 101”, restart the PC.
